Privacy Policy
Version 2026-08-01
This explains what we do with your personal data. In short: we collect what an employment platform needs, we don't sell your data, and you have rights over it. When you apply to a job, the employer, not Anakalice, decides what happens with your application.
What we collect, and why
- Your account: name, email, a securely hashed password, and optional phone, location, and photo, to create and secure your account.
- Applications: your CV, cover letter, experience, expected salary, and which jobs you applied to, to let you apply and let employers consider you.
- Employers: company details and verification records; and, recorded by the employer, its private notes and decisions about candidates.
- Trust evidence & logs: factual records of activity (verification, responsiveness, hires, moderation) and audit/security logs, which reference personal data by ID, not by copying it.
We rely on contract (to run your account and applications), legitimate interest (to keep the marketplace safe), and consent (only for things like marketing, which we don't currently do). We don't ask for sensitive data such as health information.
Who's in charge of your data
Anakalice is the controller for your account, the marketplace, trust evidence, and our logs. When you apply to a job, the employer becomes the controller of the applicant record and decisions it builds, and Anakalice only processes that on the employer's instructions. To have an employer delete what they recorded, the request goes to them; we'll help you reach them.
Sharing & service providers
We share your application with the employers you apply to. We use a small number of providers to run the service: sign-in (Google, if you use it), email delivery, and hosting. They act on our instructions. We never sell your personal data.
Security
Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, the service runs over HTTPS, CVs are stored privately and served only to authorised users, and each employer's data is isolated from every other's.
How long we keep it, and why some records stay
We keep personal data only as long as needed. When you delete your account, your profile and CV files are removed and the personal details in our accountability records are redacted (your name becomes "a user") while the fact that an action happened is kept, for safety and legal reasons. This lets us honour your erasure right and keep an honest record.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, and complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). To exercise a right, contact us. You can delete your job-seeker account at any time from your account page.
Cookies & children
We use only necessary cookies to sign you in and protect forms. We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The platform is for people aged 18 or over.
